The late Malayalam actor Sathyan was well-known for his powerful and varied performances in Malayalam classics such as Mudiyanaya Puthrian, Veettu Mrugam, Nairu Pidicha Pulivalu, Snehaseema, and Udhyogastha. At a comparatively middle age of forty, Sathyan entered the film industry. Few people are aware that Sathyan served as a soldier in the British Indian Army prior to entering the film industry, and that he eventually joined the Travancore State Police as a police officer.

For a considerable amount of time throughout his police career, Sathyan was assigned at the Alappuzha police station. Despite being abandoned, the former police station where he worked is still standing. The new Alappuzha South Police Station is fronting it. This ancient structure sometimes draws tourists since it has played a significant role in preserving Sathyan culture. At the moment, the structure is in a broken-down condition.

In the Travancore hamlet of Aramada, close to Tirumala, Manuel and Lilly Amma welcomed Sathyan into the world on November 9, 1912, as their oldest son. for passing the Vidwan test, which at the time was considered the pinnacle of academic success, Sathyan went for a job as a teacher. After that, he worked for a year in the secretariat until enlisting in the Army in 1941. He joined the Manipur Corps of the British Army.

Sathyan served in the army before enlisting in the Travancore police force, where he worked at the Alappuzha police station during the communist uprising. Known as Nadar Inspector, he was. In 1946, Sathyan was an inspector at the Alappuzha police station during the Communist Party-led Punnapra Vayalar movement. During his time working at the Alappuzha police station, Sathyan made the decision to dedicate himself full-time to acting.

He took part in a lot of amateur plays around that time, which sparked a strong interest in acting in him. He met Sebastian Kunjukunju Bhagavathar, a musician from films, while he was an inspector at the Alappuzha North Police Station. He was quickly exposed to the world of film by Bhagavathar.
