Riddhima shared details of her romance with her parents, Rishi and Neetu Kapoor, and husband Bharat Takhtani in a recent interview.
Speaking, Riddhima discussed her father Rishi Kapoor’s battle with illness.She said that since they didn’t seem distraught throughout Rishi’s illness, they were teased by others. In an interview with Galatta India, Riddhima said that the family supported one another during that time. She explained that maintaining a strong façade was necessary since her parents would get unhappy if she were distressed. In the meanwhile, even the kids would get disturbed if their mother Neetu seemed angry.
Thus, they needed to maintain a strong front for one another. We were attempting to support one another as my mother would get angry if she saw me sad. I’m only trying to be cheerful for my dad, since he would prefer not to see my tears. They have no idea what we endured, yet all we were doing was supporting one another.”
She said, “Only we know what we went through and people were saying that we were not looking upset.” Riddhima said that it was the most difficult time in their life, in part because lockdown was in place and Covid was at its worst.
Even when he wasn’t feeling well, Rishi wanted to merely be in front of the camera and participate in movies, Riddhima said. She went on to say that while Rishi was healing and reacting very well to the medications, the cancer had returned with a vengeance. “It returned. It returned with great speed and aggression. We went out and celebrated Diwali together. After spending Diwali together and attending all the festivities, she said that he was back in the hospital within a few months.
