Yummy Homemade Dry Fruit Kheer: A Creamy and Nut-Rich Dessert

A delicious and scrumptious Indian dish called dried Fruit Kheer blends the richness of dried fruits with the comforting creaminess of kheer (rice pudding). Ingredients Required:

Regarding the rice base:

a half-cup of Basmati rice

3 quarts of whole milk

1/2 cup sugar, taste-tested

a few strands of saffron steeped in warm milk

Cardamom powder, half a teaspoon

The Dry Fruit Blend:

1/4 cup of finely chopped or slivered assorted dry fruits (almonds, cashews, pistachios, raisins)

two tablespoons of clarified butter, or ghee

a dash of powdered cardamom

a few strands of saffron (for decoration)

Pistachios and almonds, chopped (for decoration)

Instructions:

Creating the Rice Base in Step 1

Under running water, thoroughly wash the Basmati rice until the water is clear. Rinse the rice.

Add 4 cups of whole milk and the drained rice to a heavy-bottomed pan. Over medium heat, bring everything to a boil while stirring periodically to avoid sticking.

After it boils, turn down the heat and let the rice to simmer. Stir constantly going forward to avoid burning. Cook the rice and ingredients just until the rice is tender. This might take 20 to 25 minutes.

Soak a pinch of saffron threads in a tablespoon of heated milk while the rice is cooking. Leave it alone.

Add sugar and stir thoroughly after the rice is cooked and the sauce has thickened to the desired consistency. Continue tossing while letting it boil for a further 5-7 minutes.

The milk that has been infused with saffron and a pinch of cardamom are added to the rice mixture. Stir well to mix. Stop the heat and let it to cool.

Creating the Dry Fruit Mix in Step 2

2 tablespoons of ghee should be heated over low heat in a separate pan.

To the hot ghee, add the finely chopped or slivered mixed dried fruits. They should be gently sautéed until fragrant and golden. 3-5 minutes may be needed for this.

Over the dried fruits, add a sprinkle of cardamom powder and combine thoroughly. Take them out of the heat.

Step 3: Putting the Dry Fruit Kheer Together

Add the dried fruits that have been sautéed to the rice mixture once it has cooled a little. Reserving a few for garnish, mix them in.

To a serving dish or individual dessert bowls, transfer the dry fruit kheer.

Step 4: Serving and Garnishing

Saffron threads, chopped pistachios, almonds, and the sautéed dry fruits that were set aside should all be used to garnish the dry fruit kheer.

Before serving, put the kheer in the refrigerator for at least a few hours. Dry fruit kheer is very delicious when it is chilled.
