Both US President Biden and Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu agree to keep delivering humanitarian supplies to Gaza

In a phone call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday, US President Joe Biden agreed to maintain the flow of humanitarian assistance and relief supplies into Gaza.

President Biden contacted Prime Minister Netanyahu to discuss events in Gaza and the surrounding area, according to the White House statement.

According to a statement from the White House, “the leaders affirmed that there will now be a continued flow of this critical assistance into Gaza.”

In the meanwhile, President Biden welcomed the first two convoys of aid after the terrorist assault by Hamas on October 7.

The statement claims that the assistance has crossed the border into Gaza and is now being given to Palestinians who are in need.

Additionally, Biden expressed gratitude for Israel’s assistance in facilitating the release of two American captives.

Two US citizens were released from Hamas captivity on Saturday, according to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).

According to CNN, the two Americans freed were identified as Chicago residents Judith Tai Raanan and her daughter Natali Raanan, who is 17 years old.

They were reportedly freed on “humanitarian grounds” because of the mother’s failing health when they were visiting relatives in Nahal Oz, an agricultural hamlet in southern Israel.

The two leaders also reviewed current efforts to further achieve the release of all hostages still held by Hamas, including US citizens.

According to the statement, they also spoke on how to provide US citizens and other Gazan civilians who want to leave a safe passageway.

The White House statement also said that “the President and the Prime Minister agreed to maintain close contact.”

At least 14 trucks carrying supplies for humanitarian help entered the Strip on Monday via the Rafah border as Israel continued to hit Hamas in Gaza, according to CNN.

The United Nations and the Egyptian Red Crescent funded these relief vehicles.

These trucks have been entered and are presently being unloaded before being transported to the UNRWA storage facilities in Gaza, a representative of the Palestinian Red Crescent Society in Gaza confirmed to CNN.
