British Court Charges Former Obama White House Advisor With Child Sexual Offenses

According to reports in the British media, a senior policy advisor to former US President Barack Obama has appeared in court in the UK on charges of child sex offenses.

According to court records cited by Britain’s Daily Mail, Rahamim “Rami” Shy is also accused of having two category C indecent photos of minors and of having a forbidden image of a kid. The 46-year-old is charged with organizing the commission of a child sex offense. During Obama’s presidency, she oversaw the US government’s counterterrorism strategy.

According to the publication, Bedfordshire Police detained the former Obama aide in late February. The New Jersey resident worked for State Secretary Hillary Clinton in the White House.

Shy was charged the next day and on Friday, via a video connection from Bedford, she appeared at Luton Crown Court wearing a gray prison-issue tracksuit. Shy, a former Citi executive, held high positions in the US Treasury Department from 2008 until 2014, where she provided sanctions advice and concentrated on preventing the funding of terrorists.

He also served as a senior advisor to Ambassador Richard Holbrooke and provided strategic analysis to the chiefs of staff of the US Department of Defense. In 2010, after being sent to Afghanistan, he gave advice to ISAF and briefed Congress on US policy. He attended Columbia University to study international security policy after graduating from Rutgers University. Shy, who was fired at Citi, will be on trial in August.
