Flash floods in Afghanistan resulted in at least 33 deaths and 27 injuries

During the course of the previous three days, snow, rain, and consequent floods caused devastation across the nation, resulting in at least 33 fatalities.
Moreover, the nation’s flash floods caused injuries to 27 people.
“Regretfully, early figures indicate that the recent floods have resulted in thirty-three fatalities and twenty-seven injuries.

In a similar vein, 606 houses have been totally or partly damaged,” said Janan Saiq, a spokesman for the State Ministry of Disaster Management, which is under the authority of the Taliban.
Saiq went on to say that the provinces of Herat, Zabul, Kandahar, and Farah have sustained disproportionate losses.

“The majority of the casualties were in the provinces of Farah, Herat, Zabul, and Kandahar, with most victims coming from Kandahar province.”
A country that is particularly susceptible to natural calamities such as earthquakes, avalanches, landslides, floods, and droughts is Afghanistan.
Since the beginning of the current solar month, more than 22,000 households in need have received and distributed relief from both domestic and international sources, according to the State Ministry for Disaster Management Affairs.
Along with the potential for further rain and snowfall to cause flooding in the provinces in the next days, the ministry also issued a warning about the likelihood of rising flood fatalities.
