In western Kenya, a dam falls, killing forty people

According to Kenyan police, a dam collapse in the west of the nation claimed the lives of at least 40 individuals.

According to police officer Stephen Kirui, the floods shut off a key route and washed through residences, as reported by The Associated Press.

The Old Kijabe Dam, which is situated in the flash-flooded Mai Mahiu district of the Great Rift Valley, collapsed on Monday morning, causing water to rush downstream and causing the catastrophe.

Kenya’s ongoing rains have resulted in flooding that has killed about 100 people and delayed the start of classes.
