Israel Steps Up Attacks On Rafah, But Hamas Declares It “Will Not Achieve” Objectives. Key Points

After promising to proceed with the planned military campaign in the southern Gaza city, Israel has intensified its onslaught on Rafah.

But according to Hamas, even if Israel conquered Rafah, it would still fall short of its objectives.
Top Points Regarding the Israel-Hamas War
Israel continued to bomb Rafah despite warnings from partners that doing so may result in large-scale deaths.

Five Israeli airstrikes on Rafah on Thursday, hitting at least three residences and killing at least six people, including a local journalist, were reported by medics in the beleaguered Palestinian enclave.
Additionally, Israeli soldiers started bombing the enclave’s center and northern regions, as well as the southern region east of Khan Younis.

According to Hamas, Israel’s invasion of Rafah will not achieve its declared objective of vanquishing the Palestinian organization.

Senior Hamas leader Ghazi Hamad told the news agency AFP that “Israel will not achieve what it wants, even if it enters and invades Rafah.”

Hamad said that Israel has “spent nearly seven months in Gaza and invaded all areas and destroyed a lot, but so far has not been able to achieve anything of its main goals, whether eliminating Hamas or returning the captives” .

According to reports, Egypt has urged Israel to meet again in an attempt to broker an agreement for a truce and the release of captives in the Gaza Strip.

According to the sources, a meeting between Israeli and Egyptian officials was scheduled for this Friday in Cairo; further discussions with Hamas were to be held based on the outcome.

According to the Gaza Health Authority, Israel has killed at least 34,305 Palestinians as of Thursday.

In an effort to resolve the situation in Gaza, the US and 17 other nations have now appealed to Hamas to free all of its captives.
