GST increased by 23% in Chandigarh in April

Compared to the total levy received during the same time in 2023, the city’s collection of Goods and Services Tax (GST) increased by 23% last month.

The Ministry of Finance reports that revenue collected in April of this year was Rs 313 crore, which is Rs 58 crore higher than the Rs 255 crore collected in the same month of 2023.

At Rs 238 crore, the collection for March had grown to 18% of the total. Compared to the Rs 202 crore earned in 2023, it was Rs 36 crore greater.

Compared to the Rs 188 crore collected in 2023, the collection for February had climbed to Rs 211 crore, or 12% more. The specifics of the taxes collected in January of this year were not disclosed by the government.

A rise of 29% at Rs 281 crore was recorded in December 2023. Comparably, November’s collection of Rs 210 crore was 20% more than the Rs 175 crore received in the same month in 2022.

October’s collection was Rs 389 crore, which is Rs 38 crore higher than the 2022 levy collected. The UT saw a meagre 6% increase in September, collecting Rs 219 crore in mop-up as opposed to Rs 206 crore in 2022.
