Thai model’s body, missing for a year, discovered in a Bahraini morgue

An Indonesian model who vanished a year ago has been discovered dead at a morgue in Bahrain. When employment dried up, 31-year-old Kaikan Kaennakam reportedly sought chances abroad, according to the China Times. According to the publication, she came to Bahrain three years ago to assist her family in northern Thailand after finding work at a restaurant there.

She used to notify her relatives that she had met and moved in with her Bahraini lover and she would often post on social media.
But in April 2023, she abruptly stopped blogging, worrying about her family. They couldn’t get through to her on the phone.

The Thai embassy was contacted by Kaikan’s family in January of this year, but they were unable to locate her.

The family was notified by the Thai embassy on April 18 that the corpse of an unidentified lady from Southeast Asia had been placed in the Salmaniya Medical Complex morgue. She identified Kaikan Kaennakam for her family thanks to a tattoo on her thigh, the China Times said.

Alcohol poisoning-related acute cardiopulmonary failure was the cause of death.

Kaikan’s family feels her death was mysterious, and they are now looking for assistance to repatriate her remains, according to the Daily Star.

But since April of last year, we haven’t been able to get in touch with her. The message continued, “On April 18 of this month, our family received word of her passing from the Thai Embassy in Bahrain.
