A 3.5-magnitude earthquake in Jammu and Kashmir shakes Kishtwar

Kishtwar in Jammu and Kashmir was shaken on Sunday by an earthquake with a magnitude of 3.5 on the Richter scale, according to the National Center for Seismology (NCS).

The earthquake occurred on Sunday at 22:56:52 IST at a depth of 5 kilometers, according to the NCS.

The NCS posted on social media from its account on platform X with the following information: “Earthquake of Magnitude: 3.5, Occurred on 22-10-2023, 22:56:52 IST, Lat: 33.34 & Long: 76.69, Depth: 5 Km, Location: Kishtwar, Jammu & Kashmir, India.”

The National Center for Seismology (NCS) reports that earlier on Sunday, Nepal was shaken by an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.3 on the Richter Scale.

In less than 24 hours, the landlocked Himalayan country has experienced a second earthquake.
