Cases of Active COVID Fall to 2,555
According to statistics published on Friday by the Union Health Ministry, 169 new coronavirus infections have been reported in India, but there are now 2,555 fewer active cases than there were on Thursday (2,687).
The data was updated at 8 am and showed that there had been 5,31,888 fatalities, with two of them occurring on the previous day.
The total number of cases using Covid was 4.49 crore (4,49,92,462).
The national COVID-19 recovery rate has been reported at 98.81 percent, and the active cases now make up 0.01 percent of all infections, according to the ministry.
4,44,58,019 persons have recovered from the illness, and the case fatality rate has been reported at 1.18 percent.
The website of the ministry reports that the country has now received 220.66 crore doses of the Covid vaccine as part of the ongoing national immunization campaign.
