Himachal Pradesh: The Chamba district is shaken by a magnitude 5.3 earthquake

Himachal earthquake: Today, April 4, a 5.3-magnitude earthquake struck the Chamba region of Himachal Pradesh, causing tremors to be felt in several places of north India. According to the National Centre for Seismology (NCS), the earthquake occurred around 9:34 p.m.

Chandigarh, as well as certain areas of Punjab and Haryana, experienced mild earthquakes. The earthquake struck in the Chamba region at a depth of 10 kilometres, according to Shimla meteorological department authorities.

No damage was recorded.

According to authorities, the little earthquake that occurred in Himachal Pradesh did not result in any recorded loss of life or damage.

“I experienced a powerful shock that lasted for a few seconds. The earthquakes ceased just as I was about to go downstairs,” Chandigarh resident Sanjay Kumar said.
