PM Modi officially sets the groundwork for the redevelopment of 508 railway stations nationwide, which would cost Rs 25,000 crore
On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi effectively set the groundwork for the rehabilitation of 508 railway stations under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, which would cost more than Rs 24,470 crores.
“Amerit Bharat Railway Station will now be created in around 1300 of India’s major railway stations. Modern redevelopment will be done to them. Of these, 508 Amrit Bharat Railway Stations will now undergo renovation. The rehabilitation of these 508 Amrit Bharat Stations would cost around 25,000 Crores, PM Modi said at the occasion.
The Prime Minister continued, saying that “the world today is focused on our country” and that “India’s prestige, on a global scale, has increased.”
The Amrit Bharat Scheme would renovate 508 railway stations scattered over 27 states and union territories, according to a formal announcement from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO). With integrations on both sides of the city, these stations will be built as “city centers.”
On Saturday, PM Modi tweeted, “Tomorrow, August 6, is a momentous day for the railroads industry. The Amrit Bharat Station Scheme’s historic foundation stone will be set at 11 AM to rehabilitate 508 railway stations throughout India. over Rs. 25,000 crore in price.
“The reconstruction will alter how our country envisions train infrastructure. The “Ease of Living” will be improved, along with comfort and convenience. He continued by saying that extra care had been taken to ensure that the stations complemented the region’s tradition, culture, and architectural style.
A total of 55 stations in Uttar Pradesh, 49 in Bihar, 44 in Maharashtra, 37 in West Bengal, 34 in Madhya Pradesh, 32 in Assam, 25 in Odisha, 22 in Punjab, 21 in Gujarat and Telangana, 20 in Jharkhand, 18 in Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, 15 in Haryana, and 13 in Karnataka are on the list of stations that need to be renovated.
