Adhir Wants Modi to Step Up to Address Delhi’s Traffic Jams Caused by the PM’s Cavalcade Movement

Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, the leader of the Congress in the Lok Sabha, brought up the subject of “huge traffic snarls” caused by the PM’s cavalcade with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, especially in central Delhi. He asked Modi to take action to prevent any hardship from being experienced by the public.

In a letter to Modi, Chowdhury brought up the matter and emphasized that the public as a whole has the highest concern for the prime minister’s security and well-being and that there can never be any leniency or compromise on that front.

“That being said, it is a fact that the VVIP movement causes traffic to be blocked or diverted, sometimes for extended periods of time, which causes great hardship for commuters on public roads who come from a variety of backgrounds and may include daily wage earners, patients, office workers, and school- and college-age children,” he stated.

“I’ve been informed of stories of individuals missing trains, planes, and exams, as well as delays in receiving life-saving medical treatment because of traffic jams. In a letter dated March 15, Chowdhury said, “It is possible that you are not fully aware of the impact your movement has been having on the commuters on Delhi’s highways.

The authorities involved, including the traffic management experts, must quickly develop and put into action appropriate plans to reduce the hardship that the “travelling public” is experiencing as a result of the VVIP movement on the capital city’s roads, he said, given the factual position regarding the detrimental effects of traffic blocks and diversions on the general public.

“It is imperative that this be accomplished without even the slightest compromise to your security,” Chowdhury said.

“Given that this is a matter of public concern, I have no doubt that you will look into it and take the appropriate action,” he added.

Here, I would like to stress once again how important it is to us to protect your safety and security, and that we will never waver or compromise on this. In addition, Chowdhury said, “it will be just and proper to make sure that the disruption caused by traffic movement on the roads of New Delhi does not subject the general public to any avoidable hardship.”
