A Unique Experience in an Underwater Room at This Tanzanian Hotel

In Zanzibar, Tanzania, there is an unusual hotel where visitors may sleep in an underwater room with fish and other marine life swimming by the windows. A luxurious vacation destination in East Africa, the Manta Resort is ideal for British tourists who like the quirky and unconventional. Anchored in the pristine waters of the Indian Ocean, the resort’s unique underwater suite is its standout feature. The hotel has an underwater room with windows all around it that provide amazing views of fish, coral, and sometimes even octopuses.

According to the resort’s website, “The floating underwater room tops almost anything, and it’s anchored in an anomaly of the sea floor that we call the blue hole.” It is a really moving and enlightening experience to sit in a turquoise bubble and watch schools of reef fish swim past, often in three or four layers of various species.

The three levels of the Swedish-designed floating structure include a lounge, a bathroom, and a sunbed with a view of the stars below. The upper level is covered with local oak. I could write a whole tale about each of them. The opulent accommodation has a cozy sundeck for reading, drinking drinks, or diving into the surrounding ocean, as well as a cozy double bed with 360-degree views. A fully equipped bar, a lounge terrace, and room service are further features.

If you would prefer not to remain underwater, the resort has a number of different lodging choices. Large homes may be found directly on the beach or tucked away in beautiful tropical gardens. Secluded and far from the commotion and loudness of Zanzibar’s main regions, the Manta Resort is situated on the northern point of Pemba Island. Zanzibar has been dubbed the “new Magaluf” because of its hip bars and clubs and white sand beaches, but this undersea hotel is not like other vacation spots.

You may pay up to Rs 90,000 for a single night, which can accommodate two individuals in a room, to stay in the underwater chamber. The resort only accepts reservations for a minimum of three days. Additionally, you will be required to give a gift of Rs 3,700, which is classified as an Impact contribution. This money will go toward keeping the neighborhood and its residents clean.
