According to Taste Atlas ratings, Indian stews are the best

Through a variety of channels, the esteemed culinary guide Taste Atlas has been showcasing the diversity of Indian food.

Several Indian foods and drinks have gained popularity and achieved the highest rankings in a variety of categories. The most recent comparison on the site, which is gaining a lot of attention on social media, is the list of the “Finest Stews Worldwide.”

According to the April 2024 rankings, there are nine Indian meals included in this compilation—the most of any one country. Taste Atlas has taken a broad interpretation of the word “stews,” embracing a variety of foods that go beyond traditional connotations.

The much-loved minced beef dish, keema, secured the sixth position in the esteemed top 10 rankings. Bengal’s spicy Chingri Malai Curry came in at number eighteen, while fragrant korma came in at number twenty-two.

Vindaloo came in at number 26, followed closely by Dal Tadka, who came in at number 30. Saag paneer came in at number 32, followed by Shahi paneer at number 34 and Misal at number 38, showcasing the versatility of Indian cuisine. Notably, the last position on the list is the collective representation of Indian dal.

It’s interesting to see how widely distributed these meals are geographically; foods from the North, South, East, and West are all represented on this prestigious list.

What’s ‘keema’ and how’s it made?
Keema, which is often written as qeema or keema, is a common Indian meal made with minced meat. The protein-dense ground lamb, goat, beef, or even chicken is combined with onions, tomatoes, and savory spices to create a delicious curry.
