organized athletics meet

Jalandhar: St. Joseph’s Convent School hosted the Association of Schools for Indian School Certificate (ASISC) Zonal Level Athletics Meet on the campus of Lyallpur Khalsa College in this city. Athletes competed in track events, discus throws, javelin throws, and other events from as many as eighteen ISCE-affiliated schools in Jalandhar, Phagwara, Nawanshahr, and surrounding regions.

The sporting event was overseen by St. Joseph’s Convent School Principal Archana. The event was organised by Rekha Kashyap, Rivya Puri, and other professors. Dr. Jaspal Singh, the principal of Lyallpur Khalsa College, gave the awardees their awards.

The role of Amar Jyoti

At the conclusion of the school year, Kanya Maha Vidyalaya arranged the revered Amar Jyoti event as a customary farewell to the graduating class. On this particular occasion, Neerja Chander Mohan, a member of the KMV Managing Committee, was the primary guest. A member of the KMV Managing Committee, Dr. Kamal Gupta, presided over the event.

The event, according to college principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi, embodied the traditional values and culture that the institution upheld. Along with sharing their lovely recollections of the event, the students performed the traditional songs “Jai Jai Janani Jai Jai Mata” and “Namo Desh Bhoomi Namaste Namaste.” Certificates were awarded to every faculty member who has taught moral education courses. Certificates were also given to twenty-eight blood donors, including instructors and students, who gave blood during the program.

Knowledge system session

Indian Knowledge System (IKS–Bharatiya Gyan Parampara) was the topic of a special session held at IK Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKG-PTU). Dr. Ruchir Gupta, an associate professor at BHU (Uttar Pradesh) and the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), spoke as the session’s keynote speaker. The main speaker for this session was Prof. Susheel Mittal, vice-chancellor of the university.

The university’s newly formed IKS cell was in charge of organizing the event. Dr. Ruchir Gupta said in his keynote speech that the Department of Indian Knowledge Traditions, or IKS, was founded at the AICTE headquarters in October 2020 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development. Its goal is to advance IKS research for societal applications in all of its facets. He explained, using historical data, that Indian science and research were once well-known around the world, but that its efficiency was deliberately retreated during the British era.

In the presence of chief guest Gurdeep Singh Sihra, Chancellor of GNA University, an inter-college competition called Kshitiz 2024 was held. This annual event features over 500 participants in 131 events, including Business Quiz, Treasure Hunt, Master Chef, Punjabi Folk, Photography, CAD Contest, CNC Simulator and Robotics Simulator, RJ Hunt, Stem Quiz, Waste to Wonder, and Deliver a Skill.

As master of ceremonies, Dr. Disha Khanna began by expressing her joy at seeing emerging talent blossom in a variety of activities. The first place winners received a cash prize of Rs 5,100, the second place winners received Rs 3,100, and the third place team received Rs 2,100 in addition to the winning trophy and diplomas. Mehr Chand Polytechnic College, Jalandhar, took home the overall winning award.

Competition in Moot Court Held

In its moot court room, the CT Institute of Law hosted an intradepartmental moot court competition. A grand total of sixteen teams, consisting of two mooters and a researcher, participated in the tournament. Following heated rounds of discussion and debate, the team consisting of Harsharan Kaur, Ekjot Kaur, and Ayush Khurana was declared the winner.

As a result of their excellent performance, Babita, Komal, and Arshdeep Kaur were named the first runners-up. Advocates Sahil Malhotra, Abhinav Nanada, Kunal Goel, and Suraj Chadha were among the members of the Jalandhar District Bar Association who attended the event as main guests. Vice-Chairman Harpreet Singh expressed their sincere gratitude to all of the attendees, participants, and visitors in addition to the esteemed members of the District Bar Association, Jalandhar.
