Sirsa government schoolchildren’s book wait is over

A stock of 41,726 sets of books for 42,000 district government school children in classes VI through VIII has been dispatched to the Sirsa headquarters by the Haryana School Shiksha Pariyojna Parishad.

By Saturday, all books will be delivered to the schools in the Nathusari Chopta, Sirsa, and Rania blocks. On Wednesday, the books were delivered to the schools in Odhan and Baraghuda; on Thursday, the stock was delivered to the schools in Ellenabad, Dabwali, and other Baraghuda block locations.

Before the academic session started, in the last week of March, the books for students in classes I through V were given out, but students in classes VI through VIII had to wait for their books. The district’s schools now contain 58,896 books for children in grades I through V. Of these, 35,629 are in Hindi, 18,908 are for model elementary schools, and 4,359 are in English.

14,247 sets of books, including 1,272 English-language books and 12,975 Hindi-language books, have been provided for Class VI. Similarly, 13,563 sets of books—12,329 in Hindi and 1,234 in English—for Class VII have been sent out.

13,916 sets, including 1,116 English and 12,800 Hindi-language books, have been issued for Class VIII.

Balbir Singh Pilania, the assistant district coordinator for Sarv Shiksha Abhiyan, verified that books for kids in classes VI through VIII had been sent and will thereafter be distributed to government schools across the district.
