The unconventional theme of Milan Fashion Week 2024 is trash and food thrown at models during a ramp walk; the video goes viral

The climax of Milan Fashion Week 2024’s spring collection is almost approaching. The Milan Runaway saw an abundance of inventiveness and originality permeating every step and every performance.

There was glitz, glamour, refinement, and inventiveness. What more could one anticipate from a fashion week? The week that the company Avavav stuck to its unorthodox presentation style saw a dash of drama added. This time, food and rubbish were sprayed all over the Avavav models. “The show performance included rubbish thrown at the models as a metaphor of the rejection and hatred on social media,” reads a post on the official Instagram account of Milan Fashion Week.

The brand has always taken unconventional routes with deeper connotations. This time, the main focus was on the “trash comments” and trolling that models, fashion designers, and other celebrities get on social media.

The footage of the models being thrown rubbish at has gone viral on the internet. As part of the performance, guests were given buckets of rubbish and gloves to throw at the models. Avavav models may be seen rummaging among the garbage in the film while wearing torn clothing. A model even stumbled and spilled food while walking the runway.

The internet is split on this unorthodox strategy. “Spilling drinks into the Model’s Face is disrespectful & humiliating,” a commenter observed. The purpose of the model is to demonstrate and sell clothing, not to be treated with such disdain. If a drink was spilled in front of an editor, celebrity, movie star, or blogger, would they feel good about it? I don’t think so. This is disrespect; it’s not art or fashion. Although you advertise that “it’s okay,” you still require models for the shows. It’s not acceptable!

“Now that I’m puzzled. Are you belittling yourself before reviewers say anything negative about this collection, or are you expressing your sorrow at the hostility you encounter on social media? Another person said, “I think this is very embarrassing for the models.

While the majority of people saw it as rude, other individuals consider it to be “very artistic and creative.” “I always love the @avavav show!” said another person. Surprisingly, and quite objective.

The brand up has before performed in a similarly spectacular manner. The models last year were not only strolling; they were taking the runway “RUN” much too seriously. “No time to design, no time to explain” was the topic from the previous year.
