3.4k sleeping tablets found in Solan

Three hundred and forty sedative pills were taken from two young people on Mall Road yesterday night by a special Solan police unit.

While policing the area, the police learned that Jitesh and Rajesh Kumar, who reside close to a mall, were peddling out-of-restriction pills and capsules in the town.

Following receipt of this information, the police squad moved swiftly, apprehending Jitesh Kumar, a resident of Solan, and Rajesh Kumar (32), a resident of Bhoranj tehsil in the Hamirpur district. They also confiscated 3,400 tapentadol sedative pills.

“Drug inspector Solan has been given the case to look into. Superintendent of Police Solan Gaurav Singh said, “According to the police records, complaints have already been filed under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act against these accused at the Sadar police station in Solan.

He stated that some young people were now resorting to sedative pills for sale here since the district police were tightening their grip on heroin vendors.
