A civic council in Yamunanagar closes two unlawful stores

The Yamunanagar-Jagadhri Municipal Corporation has closed two stores that were purportedly constructed lately without obtaining MC approval for a commercial construction permit.

The stores in Labour Colony in Ward 16 were shut per the directives of Joint Municipal Commissioner Neelam Mehra and Municipal Commissioner Ayush Sinha.

According to sources, the MCYJ officials learned that a guy in Yamunanagar’s Labour Colony had a residential building map approved; nonetheless, he had built two businesses using the approved plan.

The authorities were also informed that part of the aforementioned stores were built by intruding on MC property.

To address the issue, the MC authorities assembled a team that included Deepak Sukhija, the assistant town planner (ATP) of the MC, Naresh Dahiya, the building inspector, and other MC officials.

Upon inspection of the aforementioned locations, the team discovered that the two establishments had been built illegally.

The crew discovered that the business owner had a residential building blueprint approved rather than a commercial one.

“We sent a notification to the store owner after the site inspection, but he did not answer. As a result, Tuesday afternoon saw the stores closed, according to ATP Sukhija.

He said that once the stores were sealed, a sign warning the building owner that he would face consequences if he lifted the seal without the MC authorities’ consent was put on the stores.

“Anywhere in the MC area, illegal constructions and encroachments will not be permitted,” Sukhija said.
