A two-story home in Ropar crashes, killing two laborers

In Preet Colony here today, a two-story home fell, killing two laborers and seriously injuring another. There were still two beneath the rubble.

Ramesh and Nazim have been recognized as the dead. Sahil, who was hurt, has been sent to the PGI in Chandigarh. One laborer was saved, however.

The workers that were ensnared are Kaka and Abhishek, who live in the Haryanan hamlet of Kalsi.

DC Preeti Yadav and SSP Gulneet Khurana arrived to the scene to oversee the rescue effort after receiving information. For rescue operations, the police were called in along with teams from the ITBP, NDRF, SDRF, and fire department. The rescue operation continued until the report was filed.

The home was being repaired, according to Rajinder Kaur, the owner, who said that it was erected in 1984. She is residing in a different residence with the other members.

Yadav said that the administration’s first objective was to free the stranded laborers. She promised that the situation will be looked into.
