After receiving a complaint from the BJP, a FIR was filed against Congress Leaders Priyanka Gandhi and Kamal Nath over a social media post

A contentious social media post has resulted in the police opening an investigation into the Twitter accounts of three prominent members of the Congress party: Priyanka Gandhi, Kamal Nath, and Arun Yadav.

According to a report from PTI, the police in Indore have filed a complaint against the Congress leaders in connection with a contentious post on social media that made allegations of corruption against the BJP administration in Madhya Pradesh.

According to the article, the FIR also names one Gyanendra Awasthi along with other individuals based on the names that appear on their separate Twitter accounts.

According to the report, Nimesh Pathak, the convenor of the Indore unit of the BJP’s legal cell, filed a complaint that resulted in the case being recorded under sections 420 (cheating) and 469 (forgery with the purpose to destroy reputation) of the Indian Penal Code.

Pathak is said to have stated that the leaders of the Congress party were participating in a plot to smear the reputation of the state administration as well as his own political party by spreading fake information on social media that falsely accused the BJP regime in charge of the state of being corrupt.

According to the article, which quotes an official, the authorities are now investigating whether or not the various Twitter usernames are legitimate.

It was reported that an additional deputy commissioner of police named Ramsanehi Mishra made the assertion that a first information report (FIR) had been filed against Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Kamal Nath, and Arun Yadav at the Sanyogitaganj police station in the city.

Priyanka Gandhi made the assertion on X, which was formerly known as Twitter, on Friday. She stated that a union of contractors from Madhya Pradesh had submitted a petition to the Chief Justice of the High Court, claiming that they only get money after paying a fee of fifty percent. The letter indicated that the contractors only receive payment after the commission had been paid.

“The corrupt BJP administration that was in power in Karnataka used to take a forty percent commission. In the state of Madhya Pradesh, the BJP has succeeded in exceeding its own previous level of corruption. “Now that the people of Karnataka have removed the government with a 40% commission, the people of Madhya Pradesh will do the same thing to the government with a 50% commission,” she said in the post.

There were additional postings made by Nath and Yadav that were quite similar.
