Ahead of the LS Polls, Thrissur NDA candidate Suresh Gopi meets with local and religious authorities

KOTTAYAM: On Wednesday, the 18th Lok Sabha election campaign came to an end.

The NDA candidate for the Thrissur seat is Suresh Gopi. started a day of meetings with different community and religious leaders across the state on Thursday.

He started his day by praying at St. George Forane Church in Aruvithura, close to Pala. The bishop of the Pala diocese of the Syro-Malabar Church, Mar Joseph Kallarangatt, and I next met at the bishop’s home.

After that, Gopi had a conversation with Bishop Mar Jose Pulickal of Kanjirappally. Afterwards, G Sukumaran Nair, the general secretary of the Nair Service Society, met with Gopi at the NSS headquarters in Changanassery.

Gopi met with the general secretary of the SNDP Yogam, Vellappally Natesan, at Kalichukulangara in the afternoon.

According to Gopi, the purpose of these private trips was to ask the local and religious authorities for blessings. He made it clear to journalists that his conversations had no political undertones and were entirely private.

But given that these trips are taking place just before Friday’s Lok Sabha elections, concerns are raised about their possible political ramifications.
