Akhilesh Yadav will join Rahul Gandhi’s yatra after the seat agreement

LUCKNOW: Samajwadi Party chairman Akhilesh Yadav said on Thursday that he would travel with Congressman Rahul Gandhi on Sunday when his Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra reaches Agra.

The declaration was made the day after the parties agreed to a seat-sharing arrangement for Uttar Pradesh, under which Congress would run in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections as part of the INDIA bloc for 17 of the 80 parliamentary seats.
“The organisers of the yatra will send us the detailed programme of the route and timing of the yatra in Agra soon,” Akhilesh said in Muzaffarnagar.

Later, SP headquarters in Lucknow was visited by Congress state president Ajay Rai, senior leader PL Punia, and other officials to formally invite SP chief to the yatra.
