An FIR was filed in Kannauj against an SP politician for making a derogatory remark on a BJP MP

A local Samajwadi Party politician has been charged with breaking the model code of conduct for elections by making offensive remarks against sitting BJP MP Subrat Pathak, according to police on Wednesday.

Local SP leader Manoj Dixit reportedly made the remark against the BJP MP running for reelection from Kannauj constituency on Tuesday in front of party chairman Akhilesh Yadav.

The Election Commission’s video surveillance crew filed a complaint, which led the police to file a formal complaint.

In this case, the team filed a complaint with the sub-divisional magistrate, who instructed the police to file a formal report for violating the model code of behavior.
