Bengaluru cafe explosion: Police fear the accused may have left Karnataka

There hasn’t been any progress made by the municipal police looking into the Rameshwarm Cafe explosion case. It is believed that the bomber fled to nearby states. Even on the fourth day of the occurrence, there is not even a single lead about the culprit, thus the authorities may have an extremely difficult time tracking down the accused.

On Monday, further footage of the suspect appeared, showing him entering the café around 11.34 am and departing at 11.43 am. After eating rava idli, the suspect put the purse holding the explosives next to the hand wash basin within nine minutes.

He had a large bag on when he entered the café, but it was smaller when he left—possibly after setting off the bomb there. He is seen using his phone and checking his phone when he enters and exits. According to cops, this must be a ruse to hide his face so that the cafe’s CCTV cameras won’t catch him.

Police allegedly even discovered shrapnel at the explosion site. They believe that shrapnel from the improvised explosive device (IED) struck the ceiling. Had the shrapnels been directed in the other directions, fatalities may have resulted.

The explosion had injured ten people, including a lady. All of them—aside from the woman—have been released from hospitals.
