Bodies of Victims in Madurai Train Fire Transported to UP

According to airport authorities, nine remains of those who died in the train compartment fire tragedy at Madurai’s railway yard have been flown to Lucknow.

While four corpses were carried by a different aircraft to the capital city of Uttar Pradesh via Bengaluru, while five bodies were sent on a direct flight from Chennai to Lucknow, they said.

Four members of the railway police and 14 passengers who are related to the victims of the fire catastrophe took the direct flight.

In the August 26 fire catastrophe at the Madurai train yard, nine people died and eight more were wounded.

According to reports, the disaster was caused by illegally storing and using a cooking gas cylinder. Government railway police have opened an investigation and filed a complaint. A tour operator had rented a private party bus from the railroads for the group of pilgrims traveling in the private coach from northern to southern areas of the nation.
