Brother of Shahjahan is detained by the CBI for five days

Sheikh Alamgir, the brother of suspended Trinamool Congress politician Shahjahan Sheikh, and two other individuals, who were detained by the CBI for attacking ED investigators during a January 5 search in Sandeshkhali, were given five days to be under the agency’s custody by a local court here on Sunday, according to police.

Alamgir, Sirajul Molla, and Mafijul Molla were placed under five days of CBI custody by the Basirhat sub-divisional court, they added.

Alamgir and the other two were taken into custody by the CBI on Saturday after extensive interrogation over the assault.
