Campus news: SRA school does a fire drill

Amritsar: In observance of Fire Safety Week, which is observed from April 14–20, Shri Ram Ashram Public School held a fire exercise on Friday.The purpose of the exercise was to improve the school’s capacity to respond to a fire emergency and to familiarize staff and students with fire safety techniques.

For the benefit of the children in Classes IX and X, a group of professionals from the Punjab Fire Department Center in Amritsar conducted an informative workshop. A thorough training on safety procedures and fire extinguishing equipment was given throughout the event. The fake exercise began with a real-world fire extinguisher demonstration. Next, it recreated a fire evacuation scenario, teaching children how to evacuate safely. The pupils were shown a firefighter.

This is a yearly event that the secondary wing participates in regularly to provide students practical information and abilities that will enable them to react to situations in an efficient manner, enhancing safety readiness and perhaps saving lives. In her speech to the pupils, Principal Dr. Vinodita Sankhyan emphasized the value of these fire drills in order to make sure that everyone is ready for any emergency.

Date of the founder of Jainism’s birth

A special assembly was held by the students of DAV Public School, Lawrence Road, Amritsar, to celebrate the birthdays of Lord Mahavira, the founder of Jainism, and Mahatma Hansraj. At the Cantt branch, a havan was held when everyone gave Mahatma Hansraj, an exceptional educationist, heartfelt homage.

The school’s pupils emphasized the principles and teachings of Lord Mahavira and Mahatma Hansraj. In her speech, the school’s principal, Dr. Pallavi Sethi, encouraged the pupils to follow in the footsteps of Mahatma Hansraj and to aspire to be the best they can be in their academic endeavors and beyond. She gave the kids advice on how to honor your school and be proud to be a member of such a prestigious one.

Students from DAV excel in NPTEL

In the NPTEL courses, DAV College, Amritsar staff and students performed really well and got great grades. On an all-India basis, Bhaumik Talwar won the computer programming exam, while Shweta Thakur and Nikhil Bhandari won the history paper. Dr. Amardeep Gupta, the principal, praised each student and encouraged them to enroll in such courses in the future, as they would be very beneficial to their careers. He gave the teaching members who guided the kids high marks.

The institution has taken a fantastic step by encouraging students to compete at the national level in several advanced courses, in addition to their usual coursework. Under the auspices of the Ministry of Education, Government of India, these online courses under the NPTEL (National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning) are created by eminent Indian institutions (IITs and IISc). Foundation Day event

Jalandhar: With the theme “Aadharstambh – Foundation for Magnificent Tomorrow,” Shiv Jyoti Public School celebrated its 37th Foundation Day. From Nursery to XI, Principal Parveen Saili, Chairman Dr. Vidur Jyoti, and Manager Dr. Suvikram Jyoti honored academically deserving kids. The squad and the school band kids were accompanied by the principal.

The Head Boy, Head Girl, Captains, and Vice-Captains of the various Houses of the school led them to the stage after they had paid floral tributes before the monument of Swami Vivekananda. They had flowers and badges bestowed upon them. The event’s main draw was a lively dance performed by young children from the primary wing. The male pupils’ bhangra and Rajasthani traditional dancing stole the event.

The PSEB Class X results

The PSEB declared that all students of Guru Teg Nagar’s New St. Soldier Senior Secondary Public School were 100% matriculated. There were 113 students present in all. Anamika, a deserving student at the school, placed 18th in Punjab and earned a spot on the merit list with a score of 628/650. Over 14 pupils achieved a score of more than 90%. Over fifteen pupils achieved an 80 percent mark.

Anamika received the highest grade in the school with a 96.6 percent score. Deeksha received second place with 95.6% of the vote, followed by Anhad in third place with 95% and Khushi and Navya in fourth place with 94.6 %. The pupils attributed their success to the administration of the institution, the direction of Director Sushma Handa, and the skilled instructors.

Vermicomposting seminar

The Environment Education Programme of Hindu Kanya College, Kapurthala’s Nature Eco Club organized a seminar on ‘Vermicompositing’ in accordance with directives from the Ministry of Environment, Forests, and Climate Change and the Punjab State Council for Science and Technology. The seminar’s goal was to educate young pupils about the value of vermicomposting and its application techniques.

While stressing the significance of vermicomposting, the resource person, Dr. Pardeep Kumar, head-cum-senior scientist, Regional Center Farm Advisory, Service Center, Kapurthala, said that this process turns organic waste into a useful soil nutrient for plants and crops. According to him, vermicompost is not the same as fertilizers; instead, it improves the structure of the soil and increases the amount of nutrients available for plant development.

In addition, he answered the kids’ questions and showed them how to make vermicompost. The Nature Eco Club convener, Seema Rani, expressed her appreciation to the speaker for his informative talk. Dr. Kulwinder Kaur, the officiating principal, commended the group for its efforts to raise student awareness of environmental issues and urged them to embrace environmentally friendly practices like vermicomposting. Model of Sri Guru Harkrishan

The school held contests for patriotic group songs and art between schools. Approximately 150 pupils from different city schools took part in the events. Helping pupils reach their full creative potential was the aim.
