Maharashtra: Man Kidnaps Boy at Kalyan Station in Search of His ‘Son,’ But Is Arrested

An official said on Tuesday that a 32-year-old father of four daughters has been detained for allegedly abducting a 4-year-old boy at Maharashtra’s Kalyan station in an effort to have a “son.”

Kachru Waghmare, a native of Nashik who goes by the pseudonym Bala, is accused of committing the murder on Monday morning as the youngster was playing outside the station’s waiting area on the outskirts of Mumbai.

The representative said that Waghmare, a daily wager, took the youngster and departed the station’s grounds. He explored the city of Kalyan, bought a youngster some food and treats, and then headed back to the railway station to catch a 350-kilometer-long train to Jalna.

In the meanwhile, the boy’s father reported his kid missing to the Government Railway Police (GRP).

The GRP filed a first information report (FIR) and started watching the CCTV video from the stations’ installed cameras. Waghmare was seen on camera interacting with the youngster.

The officer said that Waghmare was intending to board a train to Jalna and that GRP captured him when he returned to the station.

There are four daughters of Wagmare. He said he abducted the infant because he was anxious to have a son, the official added.
