Center figures indicate that TN leads on many fronts: K. Stalin

According to statistics published by the federal government, Tamil Nadu has done better than other states in a number of indicators, according to Chief Minister MK Stalin’s statement on Thursday. His comments were in reaction to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s claims that the state administration had misappropriated federal funding during his Wednesday electoral campaigning in Vellore and Coimbatore.

Instead of directly addressing the prime minister’s charges, Stalin enumerated the state’s accomplishments together with facts from the union administration to back them up. The chief minister referenced statistics from the Niti Aayog’s export preparation research in a news release, highlighting the state’s top ranks in a number of categories, with the Export preparation Index-2022 topping the pack. According to the National Import-Export Record for Yearly Analysis of Trade (NIRYAT), Tamil Nadu was the second-largest contributor to India’s exports, behind Maharashtra, with 16.30%.

Stalin also highlighted the achievements of the state in the field of healthcare, namely in the areas of hospital delivery and prenatal and antenatal care.

He cited the striking difference between Gujarat’s and Tamil Nadu’s industrial growth, pointing out that Gujarat has 21 special economic zones, while Tamil Nadu has 50.

The philosophy of the Dravidian model, he said, serves as a blueprint for the nation’s growth.
