Champai hopes for his village’s better days and the CM’s chair

SERIKELA (JILINGGORA): In this Jharkhand hamlet, Champai Soren’s family has long been supplied by idli vendor Shambhu Bhagat. Bhagat, along with many others, was excited about the potential improvements that their ordinary village may receive from the prospective chief minister on Thursday.
In Jilinggora, 22 kilometers from Jamshedpur, a delighted Bhagat, 58, praised Champai, saying, “He is a true representative of the poor as he has done a lot for them.”

Following Hemant Soren’s incarceration, Bhagat echoed the growing hopes in the hamlet of Seraikela-Kharsawan district over improved facilities following local JMM MLA Champai’s appointment as chief minister.
For the oath ceremony, Champai’s relatives are camping in Ranchi. Pradip Padi stated, “Let’s see when the governor invites ‘Dada (Champai)’ to form the government.”
