Delhi: 85+ PwDs would be able to use an app that ferries them

According to authorities who spoke with this publication, the Chief Electoral’s Office in Delhi plans to release an Android application to transport two special voter categories—Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) and voters who are 85 years of age or older—from their homes to the polls on election day.

It has been agreed that on election day, voters who are 85 years of age or older and PwD (Divyang) would get on-demand Pick & Drop service. Please adhere to the included guidelines and standard operating procedure (SOP) in all respects. The letter said, “It is also required to designate a Nodal Officer (Pick & Drop) and supply his/her contact information.

According to an official, qualified voters would have access to the app-based service on demand, and it will use their cellphone number to facilitate registration.

Nevertheless, the service will also be accessible via SMS and the internet. Additionally, by contacting, the chosen voters may help to facilitate the service.
