Doda police seize booze and cash worth Rs 3.4 lakh

Late on Thursday night, the Doda police confiscated liquor bottles along with more than Rs 3.4 lakh in cash. The incident happened just as the district was getting ready to cast ballots for the Udhampur Lok Sabha seat.

According to a statement released by the Doda police, a Gandoh police team, in conjunction with the flying squad team of Assembly constituency-51 Bhaderwah, led by inspector Parvez Ahmed Khanday and naib tehsildar Mohammad Azeem, confiscated 88 liquor bottles and Rs 3,41,970 in cash from the possession of a resident named Susheel Kumar, who lives in Kuthyara in Gandoh. The authorities obtained the information through dependable sources.

A case has been lodged under the applicable sections.
