Due to wind and gales, the girders of an under-construction bridge collapsed in Peddapalli, Telangana

HYDERABAD: On the evening of April 22, the girders of a bridge that was still under construction fell in the Peddapalli district.

Problems with the contractors had all but halted the bridge’s construction. It was said that the girder collapsed on Monday night as a result of the gales and high wind.
Nobody was hurt. Locals said that if this had occurred during the day, it may have had disastrous consequences for onlookers.
There have also been reports of damage to the bridge under construction at Odedu village in Mutharam mandal as a result of the recent severe rains.

Only half of the bridge’s construction has been finished, despite the project costing Rs 49 crore when it was first started in 2016. According to reports, this was brought on by problems with money and contractor changes.
After learning of the girders’ fall, the local police contacted the police.
