ED confiscates Rs. 9 lakh from Prayas Kanti in Odisha

During a search in connection with a money laundering case, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Friday confiscated Rs 9 lakh in cash from the Palaspalli area home of Prayas Kanti, the son of prominent BJD politician and former minister Prafulla Samal.

Officers from the central agency also took a fancy vehicle belonging to a real estate business from Prayas Kanti. According to sources, Prayas and the construction company allegedly participated in a few land transactions that are now being investigated by the ED. The bureau opened an investigation on claims that the Bhadrak Institute of Engineering and Technology (BIET) in Barapada had embezzled millions of rupees. BIET is led by its president, Prayas Kanti.
