The second group of Indian soldiers to depart this month: Mohamed Muizzu

According to a media report released here on Wednesday, Maldivian President Mohamed Muizzu said that the Indian military troops operating the second aircraft platform will be removed “within the current month” and reaffirmed that the whole procedure would be finished by May 10.

Three weeks have passed since the first group of more than 25 Indian military personnel stationed in the Maldives and operating a helicopter that India had given them left the island nation after agreeing to transfer control of the helicopter to an Indian civilian crew in advance of the March 10 deadline. In this archipelagic country, 88 Indian military troops were flying two helicopters and a Dornier aircraft that were used for medical and humanitarian evacuations.

India committed on February 2 to replace its military forces in the Maldives by May 10 during a high-level conference.
