Election 2024 Updates: Navneet Rana Joins BJP in Nagpur; Erode MP Dies After Suicide Attempt

Lok Sabha Elections 2024 LIVE News: The country’s political climate is becoming more charged ahead of the next Lok Sabha Election 2024, which is scheduled to take place in seven stages between April 19 and June 1. results of the election, which saw over 90 crore eligible voters cast ballots for 543 Lower House seats, will be announced on June 4. The Election Commission of India (ECI) declared elections in four states: Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Odisha, and Sikkim, in addition to the national elections for the 18th Lok Sabha.

The Congress party also unveiled its eighth list of candidates on Wednesday, coinciding with the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) publication of its seventh list, which includes names for 403 seats so far.

Major setback for Maha-Vikas Aghadi (MVA): Chief of Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA), Prakash Ambedkar, said on Wednesday that his organization will field eight candidates in the forthcoming Maharashtra Lok Sabha election. This action suggests that the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) and the VBA are no longer in partnership.

FOR STATES AND UTS, BJP APPOINTS IN-CHARGES AND CO-INCHARGES
Several figures who were not granted tickets to contest in the polls were included on the BJP’s list of nominees for the Lok Sabha poll in-charges and co-incharges, which was announced on Wednesday for a number of states and union territories. According to a party statement, Rajya Sabha MP Dinesh Sharma will oversee Maharashtra, while Bihar MLA Nitin Nabin will oversee Chhattisgarh.

Co-incharges for Uttar Pradesh were selected as Bihar MLA Sanjeev Chaurasia, Ramesh Bidhuri, and Sanjay Bhatia. Despite not receiving a party nomination for the next elections, Bidhuri and Bhatia are both members of the outgoing Lok Sabha. Although Baijayant “Jay” Panda, the vice president of the BJP, is in charge of the Uttar Pradesh polls, he is probably going to be busy campaigning as he was selected as the party’s nominee for the Kendrapara seat in Odisha.

Assam and Delhi have been assigned to Haryana commanders O. P. Dhankar and Captain Abhimanyu, respectively. Nalin Kumar Kateel, the former president of the Karnataka BJP who was not nominated for the Lok Sabha elections, would serve as Kerala’s co-incharge. Prakash Javadekar, a former minister of the Union, was previously named the state’s chief executive.

Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland, Telangana, and Tripura have been assigned to BJP vice president M Chuba Ao, MP Ajit Gopchade, Bihar MLC Devesh Kumar, spokesman Nalin Kohli, Karnataka MLA Abhay Patil, and Avinash Rai Khanna, respectively.
