Elections in HP, BJP, and Congress spark a verbal spat

Shimla: The verbal spat between the opposition BJP and the governing Congress in Himachal Pradesh is becoming more intense as the election day approaches. Revenue Minister Jagat Singh Negi launched a vicious assault on the saffron party on Wednesday, claiming that its leaders were now panicking since the BJP’s “conspiracy to create a political crisis” in Himachal Pradesh had entirely failed.

Negi said that while the BJP’s goals were not achieved, it utilized financial leverage to purchase MLAs in order to overthrow an elected government.

Negi’s assertions were refuted by BJP leader Randhir Sharma and Naina Devi MLA. He said that the state was being handled by inexperienced officials and that the current administration will be remembered as a “flop govt.”

Negi questioned the BJP’s intentions, asking what magic the saffron party had to win over three independent lawmakers and six Congress MLAs who had previously backed the government.

Negi said that the state government had substantial proof of horse trading and that Jai Ram Thakur and the BJP “tried to create political instability” in the state out of a desire for power.

The minister said that the Centre abused its power and aided the Himachal BJP in their plot to overthrow the Congress government.

In head of the BJP’s media department Speaking to the media in Shimla, Randhir Sharma said that the Cong government had failed miserably on all fronts. Under the current government, the law and order system has failed horribly. The tragedy in Palampur was still fresh in people’s memories, and on Tuesday, a 4-year-old girl was raped in Shimla, according to Sharma.
