Following Nitish Kumar’s comments on birth control, BJP MP Sudhanshu Trivedi calls them “shameful, condemnable, and painful”

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Sudhanshu Trivedi responded to Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s disparaging comments on birth control on Wednesday, calling the CM’s speech “shameful, condemnable, and painful.”

“This is a very prominent man named Nitish Kumar, and his comment is sad, disgusting, and condemnable. The BJP leader said, “This demonstrates the deeply ingrained low mentality of the INDIA bloc leaders for women.”

He also questioned the Congresswomen Priyanka and Sonia Gandhi’s silence on the subject, arguing that the INDIA bloc should be referred to as a “abusive alliance” rather than a “inclusive alliance.”

“Why aren’t Sonia and Priyanka Gandhi speaking out about this? Members of their partnership have also made disparaging statements about women in the past. On the one hand, we are referring to the Vikram lander’s lunar landing site as the “Shiv Shakti” point; on the other hand, the INDIA bloc’s leaders are mistreating the nation’s women. This demonstrates unequivocally how their ideas vary from ours,” the BJP leader said.

“They should put “abusive alliance” in place of “inclusive” when titling their group, the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance. He went on, “They used to trash the ladies of the nation, the leaders of their own alliance, and the leaders of the BJP before that.

During the present Winter Session of the Bihar Assembly, chaos broke out on Wednesday as opposition members rushed to shout chants against Chief Minister Nitish Kumar due to his offensive statements made the day before on birth control.

The Bihar chief minister swiftly issued an apology to the media for his statements, telling them, “I apologise and take back my words,” after the denial of entry into the legislature by BJP lawmakers.

Speaking on the Assembly floor on Tuesday, the chief minister of Bihar said that women need to have an education as it would help them avoid having sex and becoming pregnant.

Speaking before the Assembly’s Winter Session on Tuesday during a discussion over the caste census, the chief minister made odd comments while highlighting the need of girls’ education in regulating the state’s population rise.

According to a report from last year, Kumar said in his speech to the Assembly that the state’s fertility rate, which was formerly 4.3 percent, has now decreased to 2.9 percent.

Both the National Commission for Women (NCW) chairman and the BJP expressed shock over his statements and sought an unequivocal apologies from him.

Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav defended Nitish Kumar, saying it was incorrect to misunderstand his comments since he was discussing sex education.

“I have one thing to tell you. If there is a misinterpretation, it is incorrect. The CM made some comments on sex education. Every time the subject of sex education is brought up, people hesitate. These days, schools teach this. In schools, biology and science are taught. Kids discover it. He discussed the practical steps that need be taken to halt population growth. It is important not to interpret this incorrectly. Yadav suggested that it be seen as a sexual education.
