Gehlot’s sons Nath could be included on the Congress 2nd list

Days after the party announced its first list, the Congress Central Election Committee (CEC) convened on Monday to choose the party’s final slate of candidates for the next Lok Sabha elections. Discussions for 60 parliamentary seats, including those in Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, MP, Assam, Gujarat, Daman & Diu, were conducted during the conference, which was presided over by party head Mallikarjun Kharge.

According to sources, the CEC has approved candidates for 12 Madhya Pradesh Lok Sabha seats. Nakul Nath, the son of former chief minister Kamal Nath, is a candidate from Chhindwara. It’s interesting to note that Kamal Nath ruled out running from Jabalpur on Monday and said he would not abandon Chhindwara, his political base in Madhya Pradesh. Nine times, Kamal Nath has served as the Lok Sabha representative for Chhindwara.

According to sources, the list includes the names of former ministers Tarun Bhanot and Lakhan Singh Yadav, as well as state PCC chairman Jitu Patwari.

“We have decided on our candidates for 70% of the Lok Sabha seats. Following the discussion, Patwari said, “We will respect the party’s choice about me or any other leadership.

In addition to Kharge, other attendees at the meeting were KC Venugopal and former party head Sonia Gandhi. Senior leaders from the hill state including Kumari Selja, the Congress national secretary in charge of Uttarakhand, took part in the deliberations for candidate selection. Despite being anticipated, Rahul Gandhi refrained from taking part in the conversation.

Vaibhav Gehlot, the son of former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, is reportedly planning to run.
