Give Punjabi musician Jaskaran Singh Grewal protection: Court

The Punjab and Haryana High Court has ordered the relevant police officer to give two security guards in response to a plea filed by Punjabi artist Jaskaran Singh Grewal, who claimed to have a fraternal relationship with Subhdeep Singh, also known as Sidhu Moosewala. The order issued by Judge Jasjit Singh Bedi will be in effect at least until May 16, which is when the case is scheduled to be heard again.

“Prima facie, the post on the petitioner’s Instagram page appears to be threatening in nature,” Justice Bedi said during the preliminary hearing of Grewal’s plea, which was submitted via attorney Akshay Chadha.

In order to protect his life, the petitioner was asking official respondents for guidance. Chadha said that the petitioner was in risk because of unidentified users of Instagram IDs. “They had marked the petitioner as the next target, extended threats to him.”
