Harish, KTR, and KCR hit the campaign route

Hyderabad: The Lok Sabha election campaign gained momentum in BRS, as prominent figures battled it out on the ground, criticizing the governing party for not fulfilling its pledges made in the Assembly elections. Senior party officials, including T Harish Rao and KT Rama Rao, are campaigning in different regions, while BRS chairman K Chandrashekar Rao began his bus yatra the day before.

In addition to planning meetings with party leaders in seats, former minister T Harish Rao has been actively participating in corner meetings around different districts. The BRS leader’s outburst at the Chief Minister, who was questioning him about the loan waiver’s execution, and Revanth Reddy’s counterattack stole the show during the campaign trail. Revanth accepted Harish Rao’s challenge to bring his resignation, and both of them turned in their resignations. “If the loan waiver is implemented by August 15th, I will tender my resignation; if not, your resignation should be turned in to the governor.” “Are you prepared for this?” Harish questioned Revanth.

Declaring that the Congress was Telangana’s adversary, the head of the BRS had launched a blitzkrieg assault on the governing party to begin the election campaign. The head of BRS noted that the Congress party was responsible for the 1956 merger of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh and that it has since misled the public by giving the projects to the Krishna River Management Board (KRMB). The head of BRS criticized the government for not carrying out the commitments made to the public, such as offering farmers a Rs 2 lakh debt forgiveness and one tola of gold under the Kalyana Lakshmi plan.

However, as the candidates were completing their nomination papers, BRS working president KT Rama was giving speeches, holding meetings with party officials, getting the cadre ready for the polls, and engaging in campaigning with them. Rao has emphasized that awarding BRS ten seats will allow KCR to regain political supremacy in Telangana and promote the advancement of the populace. The working president of the BRS has been criticising the BJP, claiming that during its 10 years in office, it did not contribute to Hyderabad’s progress. He has taken part in the roadshows held by the following candidates: B Vinod Kumar (Karimnagar), Kasani Gnaneshwar Mudiraj (Chevella), Ragidi Lakshma Reddy (Malkajgiri), and T Padma Rao Goud (Secunderabad) (Peddpally).

Another well-known activist for the party, K Kavitha, is now out of commission since she is being held in Tihar Jail on allegations related to the Delhi Liquor Policy case under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act. In the districts, the other leaders—former ministers, MLAs, and MLCs—are also seen promoting the party’s candidates. The nomination papers have to be filed by Thursday, so the campaign is expected to heat up on Friday. Polling in the State will take place on May 13 and the campaign will conclude on May 11.
