HC requests that the guy assist traffic officers for a month

New Delhi: Due to a settlement with the victim, the Delhi High Court dismissed the criminal case against the guy and ordered him to cooperate with traffic police at a signal for 30 days.

The accused filed a petition to close the case in accordance with sections 354 (assault of criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 506 (criminal intimidation), and 509 (word, gesture, or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of the Indian Penal Code. The court granted the petition, noting that since the victim had decided not to pursue her complaint any further, there was no reason to continue the case.

The petitioner’s FIR, which was filed at the Preet Vihar police station in East Delhi under Sections 354/506/509 of the IPC, as well as any related proceedings, are quashed. However, the petitioner must help the traffic police at a traffic signal for 30 days, during which time he may be assigned by the DCP Traffic, East District. Judge Navin Chawla said, “He shall report to the DCP Traffic for rendering assistance at a traffic signal assigned to him.” PTI
