Hesar in Haryana is about to become spicy with a Chautala clan feud

The 2019 elections will pit “bahus” against “sasur” for the Hisar Lok Sabha constituency, pitting the Chautala clan against each other. The cousin father-in-law and the cousin sisters-in-law are set up against one another. Sunaina Chautala, the wife of former Deputy Prime Minister Devi Lal’s granddaughter, was named the Indian National Lok Dal’s (INLD) candidate for the Hisar Lok Sabha constituency on Thursday.

She is prepared to face BJP candidate Ranjit Chautala and two-time MLA Naina Singh Chautala, the mother of former deputy chief minister Dushyant Chautala, who are running for the Jannayak Janta Party (JJP). As a result, an open family conflict is expected to develop in the Hisar election scene.

Three candidates were announced by the Indian National Lok Dal on Thursday for the Lok Sabha elections: Gurpreet Singh from the Ambala (reserved) seat, Sunaina Chautala from Hisar, and senior party leader Abhay Singh Chautala from Kurukshetra.

Sunaina, the general secretary of the Indian National Lok Dal’s (INLD) women’s section, was declared the party’s nominee for the Hisar Lok Sabha constituency. Her spouse, Ravi Chautala, was formerly involved in politics and is the cousin brother of INLD MLA Abhay Singh Chautala, who represents the Ellenabad assembly constituency.

Pratap Chautala, Devi Lal’s oldest son, is the father of Ravi Chautala. The Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) candidate is Naina Singh Chautala, a two-time MLA from the Badhra assembly seat, the wife of JJP supremo Dushyant Chautala, the grandson of former Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala, and the mother of the deputy chief minister. Ajay and Abhay are brothers in real life.

Former Chief Minister Om Parkash Chautala’s daughter-in-law Naina, his brother Ranjit Chautala, and Sunaina, Naina’s “bhabhi,” are all related. Naina is recognized for organizing “hari chunari chaupals” across the state to raise women’s political consciousness.

The 78-year-old Ranjit Singh Chautala, a former Independent MLA and cabinet minister in both the Khattar and Saini administrations, is the opponent of the two women. Chautala joined the BJP last month after his resignation as an MLA.

Of the ten Lok Sabha (parliamentary) seats in Haryana, the Hisar constituency is one. According to the Lok Sabha election data for 2019, there are around 1,631,817 voters in the Hisar parliamentary constituency. 72.43% of voters cast ballots for the Hisar parliamentary constituency in the 2019 Lok Sabha election.

With 603,289 votes, BJP candidate Brijendra Singh won the Haryana seat of Hisar in the 2019 elections. With 289,221 votes, Dushyant Chautala of the JNJP was his closest rival. In Hisar, 1,181,878 votes were cast in total.
