Homes of contractors were among the 40 places that I-T searched

On Friday, the I-T department raided the Palayamkottai home and workplace of a government contractor. The operation was a component of 40 places that I-T detectives searched in and around Chennai, Salem, Tiruchy, and Tirunelveli.

An unexpected raid was carried out by a group of Madurai-based IT authorities on the Ponnakudi office and residence of contractor RS Murugan, who resides in NGO Colony.A information that Murugan had cash that was supposed to be given to voters on behalf of a political party served as the basis for the raid.

It continued until 7.30 p.m., according to sources, who also said that Murugan had obtained many state road projects. The crew had examined the DMK district secretary office on Thursday before invading Murugan’s residence, but they had found nothing.

Contractor K Velumani of Kaikattipudur in Avinashi was also raided by another team of IT authorities (from Coimbatore) at his home and workplace. Additionally, a private company that handles civil and road development was looked at. The headquarters are located in the Tiruppur district, and a branch office may be found in the same neighborhood on Malviya Street. According to sources, the company’s owner was a federal contractor.
