HRTC bus cashless ticketing is now available

Today, Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) buses equipped with cashless ticketing systems were introduced by Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri. The service has already been launched in three districts: Una, Hamirpur, and Shimla. Other regions of the state will soon have it as well.

Passengers may now purchase tickets using a credit card, debit card, or UPI payment method. According to Agnihotri, “Passengers would no longer have to worry about carrying loose change to pay their fee, and disagreements between them and the conductor will also come to an end because of it. Passengers will still be able to pay with cash in addition to cashless services.

Agnihotri also said that the HRTC staff will get a 4% dearness allowance effective immediately.

In addition, the minister opened a shuttle bus service from the former bus stop to the Jubbarhatti airport. The Department of Tourism and Civil Aviation and the HTRC collaborated to launch this facility. The cost of each person using this shuttle bus service is Rs 200. With more flights, the HRTC will think about launching more shuttle bus service.

According to a government spokeswoman, “the timetable can be changed according to the arrival and departure time of the planes; the details of which will be available on the HRTC website.”

Additionally, the Deputy Chief Minister introduced college students to the online bus pass service. With this facility, children won’t have to wait in large lines to get bus passes. According to Agnihotri, “the HRTC is continuously improving its services and beginnings have been made in that direction.”

The minister went on to say that the HRTC and the Uttar Pradesh government had inked a deal for the HRTC to operate a bus service to Ayodhya. On Wednesday, the first bus service to Ayodhya departed from Hamirpur; two more trips, from Shimla and Una, will soon follow.
