In Madhya Pradesh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi Laid the Foundation Stone for the Saint Ravidas Temple as well as 4,000 Crore Worth of Other Developmental Projects

On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the cornerstone for a temple-cum-memorial in honor of Sant Ravidas and also unveiled 4,000 crore rupees worth of construction projects in Madhya Pradesh. On Saturday at the inaugural function in Sagar, PM Modi talked to a sizable crowd and discussed the initiatives his administration is doing to help the less fortunate.

According to PM Modi, his administration is giving Dalits, OBCs, and tribal people the respect they deserve, while prior administrations ignored these groups and only paid attention to them during elections. He said that although tribal regions, underserved communities, and Dalit bastis are now receiving piped water as a result of his administration’s Jal Jeevan Mission, past administrations had failed to deliver water to the needy.

In “Azaadi Ka Amrit Kaal,” Prime Minister Modi said that “we are working to eradicate poverty and hunger from our nation.”

Shivraj Chouhan, the chief minister of Madhya Pradesh, remarked during the occasion that “under the leadership of PM Modi, Madhya Pradesh is progressing well as 1.3 crore people have been uplifted from poverty.” He said, “Sant Ravidas Maharaj was the seer who united India.” Based on his life and teachings, a monument will be constructed so that future generations may learn about him and follow in his footsteps.

After doing ‘bhoomi pujan’ and laying the cornerstone for the building of a Rs 100 crore temple-cum-memorial of social reformer and mystic poet Sant Ravidas at Badtuma hamlet, the prime minister spoke at a public event at Dhana in the Sagar district of Madhya Pradesh.

Modi performed bhoomi pujan and then prostrated before the Sant Ravidas statue with his hands clasped in prayer. At this event, he also looked over the scale model of the forthcoming memorial-cum-temple.

In addition to laying the groundwork for other road projects, Modi dedicated the doubling of the Bina-Kota railway line project to the country in Dhana.

The future temple-cum-memorial for Sant Ravidas, according to the prime minister, would be built using dirt from tens of thousands of villages and water from more than 300 rivers.

He said that Sant Ravidas, who was born amid the turbulent, extravagant, and atrocious Mughal era, inspired a movement against societal ills.

“The governments that ruled for decades had failed to provide water to the poor while Dalits, underprivileged communities, and tribal areas are now receiving piped water due to Jal Jeevan Mission,” Modi claimed, accusing the prior administrations of ignoring these groups and only remembering them when it was time for elections.

“Our government giving due respect to Dalits, OBCs, and tribals,” he said.

The prime minister referred to the COVID-19 era and said that he had made the decision that nobody should go to bed hungry during the coronavirus pandemic.

“The world is praising our free ration scheme for the poor during the Coronavirus period,” he stated.

The Bharatiya Janata Party’s ongoing “Samrasta (harmony) Yatras,” which began in five locations throughout the state on July 25, came to an end with these events in the Sagar region.

The temple-cum-memorial honoring Sant Ravidas would cover 11 acres of land, according to authorities. In addition to housing for followers, a museum, an art gallery, and other features, the building will display Sant Ravidas’ teachings.
